
▲ On May 23, the Incheon Branch of Korea Energy Management Corporation held the ceremony of launching the ‘Green Queen’, a group of housewives in Incheon who share and spread ways of saving energy.
The Incheon Branch (Director: Yang Nam-sik) of Korea Energy Management Corporation and Incheon Chapter of Korean Federation for Environmental Movement jointly held on May 23 the ceremony of launching the ‘Incheon Green Queen’ at Incheon YWCA building.
The Incheon Green Queen is a group of housewives in Incheon who share and spread ways of saving energy based on the Internet blog site ‘Green Queen Club’.
Starting with the launching ceremony, members of Incheon Green Queen will learn importance of energy and global environment through green education and on-site experience. And they will conduct public campaign for saving energy targeting citizens of Incheon.
Particularly, members of the group will obtain professional knowledge as green advocates by fulfilling classes on every Wednesday for 5 weeks starting on May 23. Education subjects include crisis of global environment and energy problems, climate change and alternative energies, accompanied movement of saving energy, method of using blogs and SNS, and on-site experience of energy.
And they will participate in the Internet blog site of ‘Green Queen Club’, which is set to open in June, as leading members and join in various green events that offer giveaways on monthly basis. They will also have monthly meetings to share ways of saving energy and method of green housekeeping. Outstanding members will be selected as the ‘Green Queens of the Year’, and they will be awarded with prizes.
Any housewives who are interested in global environment, energy problems and green housekeeping are eligible for members of the Green Queen, and it receives applications any time through offline and online channels.
