Korea Energy Management Corporation (CEO: Huh Jeung-soo) and ‘The Science Boys’, a monthly magazine for youths, jointly held on June 9 the ceremony of launching ‘SESE Youth Honorary Ambassadors for Green Energy’ at Seoul National University for Education.
The program is designed to help teenagers experience preciousness of energy by themselves by taking initiative in saving energy and publicizing the practice at the time when all the people need to make ‘power-saving a part of life’. This is a part of effort to save energy as balanced power supply is expected to be difficult during this summer due to unusually early hot weather.
The launching ceremony was attended by 500 students selected from primary, middle and high schools across the country. Programs of the event included presentation of appointment certificates to youth honorary ambassadors, experiments of energy and climate change, and quiz contest on saving energy presided by gagman, Kim Gi-yeol.
Boys and girls designated as honorary ambassadors will conduct online and offline activities of saving energy and publicizing the practice in 3 stages through the end of August.
CEO Huh Jeung-soo of Korea Energy Management Corporation said, “We expect SESE Youth Honorary Ambassadors for Green Energy activities will serve as an opportunity of helping teenagers grow as healthy members of the society by experiencing and practicing energy-saving effort by themselves.”
