The Hunan Provincial government asked the company to participate in Changsha region development project.
GS Power (President: Sohn Yeong-gi) is proposed by the China’s Hunan Provincial government to participate in the community energy development project in Changsha region that includes construction of a combined heat & power plant, drawing attention whether the company will accept the proposal.
At the invitation of the Hunan Provincial government, President Sohn Yeong-gi of GS Power visited China to attend the ‘presentation session for constructing the Changsha Seondo District (energy-saving and eco-friendly new town)’ held on October 12 at Hua Chen Hotel in Hunan Province, China.
President Sohn Yeong-gi said that he made extensive discussion on subjects of collaborating for the community energy development project in the district with Vice Governor He Bao Xiang of Hunan Province, Deputy Mayor Chen Tan Hui of Changsha City and the chairman of Huan Fang Company.
As an ambitious program of the Hunan Provincial government, the Changsha region project is designed to build Korea-type community energy facilities to supply heat and electric power simultaneously to the pilot district in total space of 570㎢. It is known that the presentation session was arranged as part of the Hunan Provincial government’s strategy of promoting regional development and supplying eco-friendly energy.
According to GS Power, Vice Governor He Bao Xiang of Hunan Province said, “GS Power’s advanced technologies for community energy facility will make significant contribution to constructing eco-friendly new town in the province. We genuinely expect GS Power will take part in building energy infrastructure, which is a core part of the project.”
In response, President Sohn Yeong-gi said, “Since GS Power has long been maintaining amicable collaboration relation with Broad Group, I expect the two companies will join hands in wider areas, such as projects of constructing energy facilities and infrastructure in Hunan Province in the future.”
On October 11, President Sohn Yeong-gi visited Yangho and Bin-gang areas in Seondo District, and concluded an MOU with Chairman Chang Yak of Broad Group, the world’s largest manufacturer of absorption cooling and heating systems, for technology exchange and joint investment in community energy programs in China.
Meanwhile, GS Power explained that it is currently analyzing economic efficiency and examining feasibility of investment in Changsha region based on the proposal of the Hunan Provincial government. The company also said it will solidify the bridgehead for entering market in China by making use of network of its partner, Broad Group, and awareness of its brand.
