In recognition of its volunteer activities for people living at one-roomed houses, the company receives the citation of the Health and Welfare Minister.
Daesung Energy (President: Lee Chong-moo) is set to receive the citation of the Health and Welfare Minister in recognition of its contribution to spreading and practicing culture of sharing love with neglected people, including those who live at inn-type one-roomed houses. The citation will be awarded on October 25 at the awards ceremony of the 2012 Korea Love-sharing Awards to be televised by KBS 1TV.
Established in this year by the government and private organizations, the Korea Love-sharing Awards is designed to build a healthy and happy society by selecting and publicizing meritorious organizations and individuals who shared benevolence with needy neighbors in various social areas. It pursues to develop as the most prestigious social contribution award in Korea.
Having formed a volunteer service team, executives and employees at Daesung Energy have been conducting a variety of CSR activities for less privileged people, such as activities of providing free meals, and building houses with love.
In conjunction with One-roomed House Consulting Center in Daegu, the volunteer team put particular emphasis on programs supporting people who live at inn-type one-roomed houses, such as replacing plaster and linoleum at shabby houses, monitoring their life, donation of cooling systems and sharing gimjang (pickled vegetables). These activities are highly evaluated.
In particular, the program of providing ‘houses of hope’ to residents of shabby one-roomed houses, which it started in this year jointly with One-roomed House Consulting Center in Daegu, is recognized as a successful activity.
At it takes initiative in building a happy society by upgrading social contribution systems every year and suggesting exemplary direction of sharing love, Daesung Energy earns reputation from residents of regional communities.
