Executives and employees at the company distribute daily necessities and monitor living conditions of residents in such houses.
Daesung Energy (President: Kang Seok-gi) is participating in the 2013 Campaign for Helping One-roomed House Residents Overcome Sweltering Heat being conducted by Daegu One-roomed House Consulting Center for two months in July and August.
Through the campaign, executives and employees at Daesung Energy will conduct various volunteer activities for residents in shabby and small one-roomed houses, such as distribution of daily necessities including towels, monitoring their living conditions and providing consulting services. Results of monitored living conditions and consultancy will be used as preliminary data for devising customized support programs for them.
And they will also distribute a booklet that contains useful information on welfare programs, such as free medical treatment, jobs, basic living security system and emergency welfare support programs.
In addition, they will list names of residents older than 65 years and those with poor health to take special care of them once a week and set up emergency contact networks in conjunction with keepers of one-roomed house buildings.
Results of monitoring one-roomed houses in summer in previous years show that most residents in these houses are exposed to scorching heat defenselessly despite chronic diseases and insufficient nutrition, requiring social care and support.
In conjunction with Daegu One-roomed House Consulting Center, Daesung Energy has been exerting effort to give hope to under privileged people through varied CSR programs, such as one-roomed house cleaning program in which it replaces wall papers and linoleums at such houses on the first Saturday of every month, project of giving hope to one-roomed house residents, kimchi distribution campaign, and electric cooler distribution project.
