The job evaluation is designed to improve employees’ skills and ability to deal with emergency situation.
Daesung Energy (President: Kang Suk-ki) conducted job evaluation on employees at its safety supply offices for 5 days between September 9 and 13 to assess their job skill levels and capability to deal with emergency situations. The job evaluation was conducted at education and testing facilities in its branch located in Seo-gu, Daegu.
Through the job evaluation, the company comprehensively examined job abilities of employees at its safety supply offices, such as understanding of gas pressure regulator’s structure and overhaul skills, ability to take safe and rapid emergency actions in case of damages on pipes, awareness of exact locations of valves and gas pressure regulators in relevant districts, and ability to control and deal with situations (situational simulation exercise).
In addition to these evaluation items, the company randomly selected 2 employees each from branches, and also assessed even detailed technical abilities, such as skills in using equipments and extent of following safety rules.
And in situational simulation exercise, the company assessed ability of dealing with emergency situation of all employees at the situation room and their organic cooperation with work groups at branches in emergency situation. Based on results of evaluation, the company awarded prizes to excellent branches.
Executive Director Lee Seok-hyeong for Technology Division at Daesung Energy said, “Job skill of employees at safety supply offices is important because they are responsible for safety of citizens in the front line. These workers need to beef up ability to skillfully handle any situation with mindset of protecting safety of their own families.”
Since 2010, Daesung Energy’s Technology Division has been continuously conducting job evaluation on employees at safety supply offices to foster their ability to carry out jobs rapidly and accurately, as well as drills in preparation for safety accidents, such as exercise of mobilizing to supply facilities by quarterly, and evening emergency mobilization exercise by sectors.
